Mobile Phone Lover

What a lazy Sunday, thinking of things that needs to do. Until finally, as I check my storage, I found lots of mobile phone and thought of blogging it out.

I am a Nokia phone lover, my first unit is Nokia 5110 which I first bought around 1999. And then Nokia 6150, 8250, 8310 and so on… all of these are already history, some are swapped and other are lost. Then I finally decide of storing them for future use (thinking of having a museum, thats a joke).

As I take this shot, noticed some changes on my preferred brand… from Nokia to Motorola to Samsung and finally, Apple. For the straight 3 years now, I bought 3 iDevices which I am thinking if I will get the much awaited iPhone 5.

Meet My Noki the Navigator

Have started using again my Nokia E5 after almost 10 months on my storage. Found very useful tool after I ran Software Update which is Nokia Maps. Nokia Maps act as a cool Navigator where you can download local maps in different parts of the world.

For me, I (of course) downloaded Philippine maps with “English – Surfer Dude” as my Driver guide. It really guides you on the route/place you’ve indicated. Even kids enjoyed listening to the road directions that Surfer Dude is saying.

Do you have Nokia Maps on your Phone? try it, you will enjoy like what I do.

Just updated all our phones to smartphones

iPhone 4s    - for me
iPhone 4     - for my one and only
iPhone 3Gs   - for my princess
Netphone 701    - for my prince

Wait, looks like iMessage wont work with Netphone. So here comes WhatsApp.

Its a cross-platform messaging service for iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and Nokia. All of us can send SMS in 1 group chat without having any account (facebook, messengers). Nice thing about it is its Free, just hook up to the internet. It really saves money (no more Unli-text subscription) for just the 4 of us. Changed my WordPress Theme

Been using my wordpress site since 2006 with “Light” as my activated theme. Its already 5 years old, where twitter and other social networks are not yet known.

Now, this 2012, I have changed my WordPress theme to “Notepad“. I choose this theme for me to think that I am just using my iPhone’s Notes app. Also, thru this theme, I can link my Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Please do explore and comment if you have suggestions.

iPhone 4s Siri Commands

Been experimenting Siri on my iPhone 4s and thinking of what other commands that she can do. Most of the commands I made:

Call personalization
Greeting
Time (even on different timezone)
Calendar
Check messages (SMS, Email)
Search information

Lotus Notes: How to delete email messages on schedule Using Agent

1. Right click the database icon, and choose Database -> Go to Agents

2. Click “New Agent”

3. In the Agent properties window, specify the agents name, and define the following details

- Agent type: Shared

- Trigger: Scheduled;

- Specify the time the agent should be executed

- Target: All documents in database

4. On the objects field select Document Selection;

- On the programmer’s pane click “Add Condition”

- Define Condition (In Your case “By date”) and set the “Data created” – “older than” – 14 days condition.

5. Switch to “action” on the objects field

- On the programmer’s pane click “Add Action…” and choose “Delete Document”.

Once created, You can easily pick the agent in designer from the database – Shared Code – Agents field and copy-paste it into another database.

Check the log based on the scheduled run if it was successful or not:

Started running agent ‘Archive Mails’ on 10/18/2011 11:00:56 AM

Running on all documents in database: 695 total

Found 38 document(s) that match search criteria

Deleted 38 document(s)

Done running agent ‘Archive Mails’ on 10/18/2011 11:01:49 AM

HandBrake Video Converter

Have been looking for a free application that can convert videos to different format for mobile devices/tablets which includes iDevices like iPhone and iPad. Handbrake answers them and now playing along with some videos that can be uploaded to my iPhone.
