Have bought HP Mini 110 with Windows XP Home SP3. It seems that Disabling autoplay is not the same with Windows XP Professional and Windows Servers

To Disable autoplay,  in Windows XP Home

1.  Copy & Paste the following into Notepad:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
“NoDriveTypeAutoRun”=dword:000000b5

2.  Save as a registry (.reg) file

3.  Run the file to add the settings to the registry and there you have it – no more autorun or pop-ups!

On the same page, you can see that at the top, you can enter a phone number and call the number. Doing this will work, but it will all be initiated only on the phone. Simply click connect next to the headset option “Use this computer as a headset or speakerphone for calls on your phone”. This will make your computer act like any other wireless headset, so any calls your receive or initiate can be conducted by just talking at your computer. I have a good speaker and a built in mic, so I don’t even have to stop working to talk to people.

The great thing is that you can also initiate a call by right clicking a contact, going to “actions” and clicking on “call this contact”. The call will be initiated from your phone, but since your laptop is your headset, there will be no need to touch your phone, or for it to be anywhere near you.

Every hard disk is too small if you just wait long enough. TreeSize Free tells you where precious space has gone to. TreeSize Free can be started from the context menu of a folder or drive and shows you the size of this folder, including its subfolders. You can expand this folder in Explorer-like style and you will see the size of every subfolder. Scanning is done in a thread, so you can already see results while TreeSize Free is working. The space, which is wasted by the file system, can be displayed and the results can be printed in a report. TreeSize Free is freeware for Windows 2000/XP/Vista.

ScanDir is a free directory lists manager for the Windows operating system. At its core stands a GUI powered search engine that performs incredible fast searches in selected directories or partitions of the computer system. Searches are powered by various filters that are divided into various tabs in the main interface. Filterers can make use of file attributes, sizes, dates and the path and name of the file. The Boolean search is wildcard driven and can combine or exclude various terms.

ScanDir will process the user request and display the results in four different ways. The first view lists all file paths, names, sizes and dates. A click on a file allows the execution of the file right away. The other three views provide various information such as statistics.

The software comes with file operation tools like copy, merge or purge. It is nowhere near as comfortable as working with a file manager but it works surprisingly after some time of training.
